HAZARDOUS WASTE SITE WORKER UPGRADE COURSES:
16-hour Site Worker Upgrade - $300.00 Per Student
All American School of Occupational Health and Safety certificate holders for the 24-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker course will need an additional 16-hours training to satisfy the initial training requirements for individuals involved in hazardous waste site operations as specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(iv). A passing grade in the 40-hour course final exam is required.
NOTE: The upgrade program is conducted in conjunction with the school's scheduled 40-hour course. Students will usually attend class Monday and Tuesday p.m. and Friday all day. Occasionally a particular class presentation schedule may vary from the norm. Please confirm the exact upgrade class dates during the week prior to your scheduled class dates.
24-hour Site Worker Upgrade - $350.00 Per Student
For prospective students holding a (24-hour) training certificate from another training organization, it will be necessary to review the instructional curriculum/detail course outline of the training completed to determine (1) if all of the elements of site worker training have been covered, asopposed to, for example, 24-hour training for TSD workers specified in 29 CFR 1910.120 (p)(7) and 40 CFR 264.16 and 265.16, and (2) to assure that the OSHA Site Worker standard has been complied with.
Generally, experience has shown that individuals in this category will need to take an additional 20-24 hours training to satisfy the initial training requirements specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.120 (e)(3(i).

Environmental Compliance Officer - $500.00 Per Student
A (32-hour) course providing a regulatory awareness foundation for personnel functioning as Environmental Compliance Officers (ECOs) or those with similar work responsibilities.It examines the requirements of the wide range of OSHA and EPA Maryland and Virginia state environment, safety, and health regulations and their impacts, and the roles of the ECO in ensuring compliance.
Hazardous Waste Management I - $195.00 Per Student
An (8 hour ) course providing a regulatory overview of 40-CFR 262-Standard Applicable to Generators of Hazardous Waste and 40 CFR Part 264- Standards for Owners and Operators of Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal facilities. Curriculum focuses on the understanding and the use of site specific Hazardous Waste Management and Emergency Action Plans for facility managers and supervisors.
Hazardous Waste Management II - $395.00 Per Student
A (20-hour) program designed to meet site-specific requirements specified by 40 CFR 262. This course is intended to provide a working knowledge of the regulation and develop the skills necessary to use the regulations a resource in determining how specific requirements apply to the handling, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes. The target audience is any employee involved in the administration, supervision and manifesting of hazardous wastes.
SECURITY LAW ENFORCEMENT COURSES:
Terrorism Incident Response/Awareness – $100.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) course covering the basic knowledge needed to recognize and understand the ramifications of a suspected terrorist threat. Students will be presented general information on the characteristics of chemical, ordnance, biological and radiological (COBRA) events and response protocols. Mornings only.
Terrorism Incident Response/Awareness and Operations - $250.00 Per Student
An (8-hour) course designed to provide the student with an in-depth understanding of the COBRA categories and recommendations regarding personal protective actions, defensive techniques and incident management methods.
Terrorism Incident Response – Technician - $400.00 Per Student
A (16-hour) course focusing on the performance of hands-on practical exercises, including decontamination principles and techniques, utilizing various types of chemical protective clothing and detection devices. Prerequisite: Terrorism Incident Response Awareness and Operations course, unless currently certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician in accordance with the training standards of 29CFR1910.120 (q) (6) (iii).
NOTE: This course has been designed to provide the students with the same information contained in the National Fire Academy and U.S. SBCCOM Domestic Preparedness Program for public safety organizations, and expand upon the basics within the context of incident response operations.
Emergency Entry into Hazardous Materials Sites - $995.00 Per Student
A fast paced (32-hour) program designed to address the needs of experienced law enforcement personnel involved in the planning and execution of missions requiring extreme measures for entry into hostile environments having suspected chemical-biological hazards.The course focuses on intelligence gathering, site characterization, hazard and risk assessment, chem-bio detection equipment and sampling protocols, as well as atmospheric monitoring, respiratory protection and confined space entry.
Law Enforcement First Responder Operations - $200.00 Per Student
An (8-hour) course designed to provide the participants with the information and skills to perform their duties in a safe and effective manner when working traffic incident involving hazardous materials.Target audience command personnel, field supervisors and patrol officers.

A comprehensive, multi-discipline program focusing on the needs of individuals preparing private and public Action/ Response Plans for the management of large scale catastrophic events, whether they be natural occurrences, or man-made incidents.
Using U.S. Department of Homeland Security Incident Management System (NIMS) protocols, supported by relevant OSHA and NFPA incident command and disaster management standards and generally accepted practices; the program design brings together the information (considerations, options, solutions) needed by the planner and commander to effectively manage the array of emergency incident problems that must be addressed, in order to minimized the adverse impact of catastrophic event on their community or business, regardless of size, complexity and origin.
The Program’s modular design allows flexibility in course content, focus and duration (40-160 hours) depending on a client’s unique requirements such as: the need for a multi- agency emergency response drill/exercise, in addition to the practical training activities and tabletop problem solving scenarios that are part of the Program curriculum design. Course content, duration and number of students will be determined jointly upon a request for services, and will be the basis of the Program’s price.
Hazardous Materials Technician - $1,200.00 Per Student
An (80-hour) course meeting the NFPA skill competency standards defined in NFPA 472, Volume 7 Chapter 4.Participants spend approximately two-thirds of their time involved in skill building exercises, problem-solving scenarios and applications-oriented activities focusing on the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively and safely to a broad range of incidents involving hazardous chemicals.
Hazardous Materials Technician - $550.00 Per Student
A (40-hour) course exceeding OSHA's training requirements for Hazardous Materials Technicians as specified in 29 CFR 1910.120 (q)(6)(iii).Includes extensive coached practice in critical emergency response offensive spill containment operations in high-risk petro-chemical processing/production environment.
Hazard Materials Technician Recertification - $200.00 Per Student
This 2-day, 16-hour course provides personnel who have taken either the 40-hour, or 80-hour Hazardous Materials Technician Programs with expanded refresher training exceeding the requirements of 29 CFR 1910. 120 (q) (6) (iii) and (q) (8).
On-Scene Incident Commander II - $300.00 Per Student
A (16-hour) course meeting OSHA's training requirements for On-Scene Incident Commanders as specified in 29 CFR 1910.120 (q)(6)(v).Incident Commanders are those personnel who will manage emergency response operations above the Awareness Level.Prerequisite: A minimum of 8-hours training at the First Responder, Operations level designed for Commanders managing Incidents in heavy industry, processing or energy generation operations. Emphasis placed on problem solving scenarios and tabletop exercises.
Laboratory Incidental Spill Response – $195.00 Per Student
An (8-hour) training program designed to provide the students with the skills and knowledge needed to safely and effectively respond to laboratory-scale chemical spills. The program will address the applicable employee training standards specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.1450, “Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories”.

A (16-hour) course designed to address the training requirements for first responder operations-level emergency response team personnel in heavy industrial operations. The course provides additional practical exercises and an introduction to the principles of emergency management.
Confined Space Rescue Recertification - $175.00 Per Student
A 1 day hands-on focused course meeting the mandatory annual skills refresher training requirements specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.146 (k) (iii), Rescue and Emergency Services.
Industrial Fire Brigade Training
A customized, facility-specific three to five-day training program, focusing on the information and skills needed to effectively implement firefighting strategies and tactics, and manage incidents in accordance with accepted standards of command and control. With regard to fire fighting personnel responding to vehicle and structural fires, the training is based on NFPA 600 Standard for Industrial Fire Brigades; with an emphasis on the training requirements specified in Chapter 5 for units involved in both advanced exterior and interior structural fire fighting, and in accordance with NFPA 1403 Standard on live fire training evolutions in structures. In addition to live fire exercises, the course curriculum includes mask confidence, ground ladder techniques, pumping evolutions with apparatus supply and attack lines, communications, command and control as well as confined space rescue operations and SCBA use. This hands-on oriented training is only available at client locations having access to local Fire Service Training Academy live-burn facilities. The price to conduct this training is based on the duration of training, the number of students, and the location of the training site.
Vehicular Accident Occupant Extrication - $300.00 Per Student
An intensive (16-hour) hands-on oriented training program designed to provide Fire-Rescue Service personnel with the information and practical skills needed to safely and effectively remove trapped/injured occupant(s) from a damaged vehicle. The program which is taught by career emergency responders, through a combination of lecture, demonstration and practical exercises, focuses on vehicle stabilization methods, techniques for using devices to gain access and remove the occupant(s), and the standardization of SOPs, particularly those governing crew assignments, in order to minimize the time to gain access to and remove the occupant(s).
INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSES:
Instructor Training Course - $650.00 Per Student
A (40-hour) course that develops an understanding of instructional methodology and builds the participant’s skills in the development and delivery of employee health and safety training. The course satisfies OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (e) (5), (q) (7), and Appendix E, paragraph 3 requirements for qualifying individuals in basic methods of instruction for presentation of environment and occupational safety and health-related courses. It also exceeds NFPA Standard 1041 Level 1 instructor training requirements.
Instructional Development and Supervision - $650.00 Per Student
A (40-hour), in-depth training management course designed to develop the skills necessary to perform duties as an instructional course developer at the supervisory level.It also introduces the student to the "Total Quality Instruction" system of instructional management.The course satisfies OSHA requirements for development of instructor skills and safety and health training materials; it specifically meets NFPA 1041 Level II and III.
Requirements.Prerequisite:Completion of "Instructor Training Course," all NFPA 1041 Level I requirements, or their equivalent.
Presentation Techniques for the Safety Manager/Supervisor - $400.00 Per Student
This (16-hour) course is designed to provide an overview and understanding of presentation and training principles and techniques for safety and environmental managers and on-site supervisors.The course addresses the four principal areas of training and education (planning, presentation, application, and evaluation) and enhances managers' and supervisors' ability to provide high-quality on-the-job occupational safety and health briefings, presentations, and training.Prerequisite:A background (training and/or experience) in occupational safety and health.

Confined Space Operation Refresher - $100.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) course providing hands-on skills refresher training for students previously trained as entrants or attendants in a Confined Space Operations course meeting the OSHA training standard specified in 29 CFR 1910.146.
This class is held the Afternoon of the initial certification training class with a 12:30 start time.
Asbestos Awareness - $50.00 Per Student
A (2-hour) course designed to provide the students with a basic understanding of asbestos and its various forms and uses. Information on the health affects, associated with ACM exposure, information enabling workers to identify areas of ACM and avoid occupational exposure. An overview of respiratory safety and PPE.
Hazard Communication/SARA Title III Worker Right-to-Know - $50.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) class satisfying the Hazard Communication Act's requirement for right-to-know training of all individuals whose duties involve exposure or the threat of exposure to hazardous materials in the workplace.
Lock-Out/Tag-Out: Control of Hazardous Energy - $75.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) course satisfying the training requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.147 (7) (i), "Training and Communication."
Forklift Safety Training - $ 75.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) course, designed to meet the requirements of the new OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.178 which went into effect March 1, 1999.
Bloodborne Pathogens - $75.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) course providing the information needed by managers, supervisors, and health and safe professionals to meet the employee training criteria of the Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030.
Back Injury Protection - $50.00 Per Student
A (3-hour) course design to provide the students with information necessary to prevent back-injury while performing on the jobs duties, completing home projects, or participating in recreational activities. Through a program of lecture, video and demonstration the students will learn to recognize the potential danger and causes of back injuries. The students will also learn the essential principles and mechanics of lifting, as well as the impact of lifestyle issues such as diet and exercises on their well being in the workplace and at home.
FIRST-AID AND CPR TRAINING:
Standard First-Aid/CPR/AED - $75.00 Per Student
A Medic First-Aid®/American Safety & Health Institute or American Red Cross CPR, First Aid training program including Automated External Defibrillator (AED), hands-on practice and certification. This extremely flexible program meets OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151 Subpart K, 29 CFR 1910.266, & Subpart D 1926.50, MIEMSS, (Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems) meeting COMAR 30.06.05.02 training requirements for AED, and other Federal and State requirements. The program follows the new American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care; 2005 International Consensus on Cardiovascular Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science with Treatment Recommendations, International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), National Standard Curriculum for Bystander Care, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation.

A Medic First Aid® or American Red Cross Course. CPR Training is also conducted on Thursday during the Hazardous Waste Site Worker class that individuals may attend.
Pediatric First Aid/CPR & AED - $75.00 Per Student
A Medic First Aid® Child, Infant and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid Emergency Medical Response training program. The program follows the skills and instructional methodology of our corner stone CPR/First Aid training program. The program teaches appropriate emergency response skills and prevention strategies for the care of infant and children. Adult care techniques are also
included. Intended audience for this program are child care providers, school personnel, bus drivers and youth sport coaches.
Certification upon completion.
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY COURSES:
Construction Industry Basic Safety Principles - $150.00 Per Student
This (10-hour) course is intended to provide entry-level participants with an understanding of a variety of basic construction industry safety and health standards; i.e., OSHA Act, General Safety and Health Provisions, Competent Person, electrical safety, fall protection, excavations, etc. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-hour construction program card. Class Dates Feb 17. Start Time 8 am for this course.
Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry - $400.00 Per Student
This (30-hour) outreach training course, taught by an OSHA authorized trainer, is designed to provide participants an in-depth familiarization with workplace safety policies, procedures and standards specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1926. Basic principles of construction safety and health are also covered. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 30-hour construction program card.
Fall Protection - $75.00 Per Student
A (4-hour) hands-on focused training course meeting the training requirements for workers specified by OSHA in 29 CFR 1926.502 (d), Personal Fall Arrest Systems, and 503, Training Requirements.
Excavation Safety - $150.00 Per Student
An (8-hour) course focusing on safe excavation techniques, i.e., wall configurations, shoring and shielding methods. A basic introduction to the Classification of soils is also part of the program that has been designed to meet the training standards of OSHA 1926.650-6652.
Confined Space Operations - $150.00 Per Student
A one day course satisfying OSHA’s “demonstrated competence” training standard for authorized confined space attendants and entrants as specified in 29 CFR 1910.146. See page 2 for current class schedule. Other dates available on request.
Confined Space Rescue - $400.00 Per Student
